Specialist Teacher of the Deaf required for January 2018

MPS + 1 or 2 SEN points depending on experience and qualifications

A full time Teacher of the Deaf is required to join the Redbridge Advisory Service for Deaf and Hearing Impaired children to lead and develop the secondary case load.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced teacher to join our large and ever growing service. We are looking for a full time teacher to join our team of Teachers of the Deaf and our audiological technicians.  We are currently supporting approximately 80 secondary aged students, who attend mainstream and special schools in Redbridge.

 

The Outreach Service, which is based at Roding Primary School, supports children from 0 – 18 at a variety of settings within the Local Authority.  The role will involve visiting Redbridge students in Out of Borough placements and in certain cases may include home visits. The ability to form positive relationships and to be able to work in partnership with other professionals and schools would be essential in this role. Signing skills or a willingness to train would be a requirement. You will also have responsibility for managing the audiological equipment needs of your students alongside our technicians, therefore prior knowledge would be an advantage. An experienced Teacher of the Deaf would be our ideal candidate; however, applications are also invited from teachers with experience of Special Needs who are willing to undergo training.
