BSL Level 4/6 Communication Support Worker

Required: ASAP

15 or 30 hours a week on Fixed Term Contract for 1 year

 

Salary:  Instructor Scale Point 1 or 2 (Depending on Experience and Qualification). Actual Salary - £9,115 - £10,009 (15 hours) or £18,330 - £20,018 (30 hours)

Do you have a positive and flexible outlook and experience of communicating with young children?  Are you able to differentiate language to a child’s individual level?  Do you have excellent communication and organisational skills and an understanding of school/educational expectations?  If so you may be the person for us.

We are looking for someone to work primarily with a bright and enthusiastic mainstream child currently in Reception who requires consistent BSL/SSE communication support across the school day, ensuring he has full access to the rich language that his hearing peers enjoy.  Our ideal candidate will be qualified to BSL level 6, and will be prepared to offer consistent but flexible communication support.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who would like to work in one school and gain experience of an educational setting.  You would join a happy, friendly and supportive team working within our Provision for Deaf Children.
