Roding Primary School & Nursery with Provision for Deaf Children.

Roding Lane North, Woodford Green, Essex, IG8 8NP

Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium is additional funding given to schools address the gap in outcomes between children receiving free school meals (FSM), and for children who have been continuously in care for more than six months, and their more advantaged peers.

Class teachers, subject leaders and raising achievement teachers are all aware of which children are eligible for Pupil Premium and monitor their progress carefully. The senior leadership team analyses the difference Pupil Premium funding is making to the outcomes for pupils.

The government believes that schools should decide how the pupil premium is allocated and spent, since it is felt that they are best placed to analyse and decide what additional provision should be made for the individual pupils within their responsibility. From September 2012 schools have been required to publish on line information about how they have used the Premium. This is to ensure that parents and others are fully aware of the attainment of the pupils covered.

Free School Meals

Additional funds for the school and families:

Parents who receive certain benefits may be entitled to financial support with school trips, clubs etc. If you  get

  • Income Support
  • Income Based Job Seekers Allowance (IBJSA)
  • an income-related employment and support allowance
  • support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • Child Tax Credit (with income below £16, 190 on 01/04/10)
  • Universal Credit

then the school can get extra funding called the Pupil Premium.

You need to register your eligibility online. Click Here

Registering only takes a few minutes and could make a significant difference to the funds available to school as well as more opportunities for your child. If your child is in Y3-Y6, this will also entitle you to free school meals!

Alternatively, you can provide us with some details to allow us to check your family's eligibility on your behalf. All we require is the Date of Birth and National Insurance number of both parents/guardians, and we can check this for you. Please speak to a member of the school admin team if you would like to find out more.

See reports below for more information about how this money has been spent.
