Phonics

At Roding, we use the Read Write Inc. Phonics scheme to teach phonics. Phonics is a key part of early literacy development, helping children build strong reading and spelling foundations. By focusing on the relationship between sounds and letters, children learn to decode words and improve their fluency. Through engaging activities, students practice blending sounds, recognising phonemes and graphemes, and expanding their vocabulary. This systematic and synthetic approach equips them with the tools needed for confident, independent reading and writing as they progress through their education.
